Divine is the only Fairtrade chocolate company co-owned by the cocoa farmers who supply it: the Kuapa Kokoo cooperative in Ghana (over 100,000 farmer members) owns 44% of the company and receives the Fairtrade minimum price, the Fairtrade premium, 2% of turnover for producer support, and a share of distributed profit.
The farmer-ownership structure is independently documented (Divine is a UK-registered company with public shareholding records showing Kuapa Kokoo's 44% stake), not just a marketing description of a "partnership."
