GFA Evaluation
Rice grown in Wuchang, Heilongjiang, China -- fresh-water irrigated, free from industrial pollution, produced under a strict traceability system limiting the "Wuchang Rice" name to rice actually grown in the certified region.
China Geographical Indication (GI) certified since 2007; selected into the first product group under the China-EU GI protection and cooperation agreement in 2020.
No specific farm-level labor certification found beyond the GI certification, which does regulate origin and production method.
The GI certification is independently administered by China's National Intellectual Property Administration and publicly verifiable, not a self-declared claim. Note: available via Asian-grocery delivery platforms (Weee!, Yami) rather than mainstream US retailers -- a narrower purchase channel than the rest of this batch.
